"The 2016 Reserva Bruto Baga Bairrada was disgorged in March of 2019, which is not on the label, but there is only this disgorgement. It's a "no dosage" Baga, so you know you'll get acidity. Like so many of the wines from Bacalhôa this issue, this is a terrific value. Crisp and reasonably concentrated, this is a nervy sparkler with an acidic core for its backbone. Textured, and never too much when it comes to acidity, it does great for a jaw-dropping price. It has no complexity to speak of—but then, it is a very young sparkler. We'll see how this ages—it should—but at the moment, I have to lean up on this super value."
