"The 2016 Tinto, a Red Blend as it says on the label, was in bottle about a month when seen. It is a blend of 45% Syrah, 30% Castelão and 25% Alicante Bouschet, aged in a 60/40 mixture of concrete and used French barriques for eight months. It comes in at 14% alcohol. Adding a bit more depth and power to the Terra de Lobos, this still has vivid flavor and fine fruit. The extra power on the finish gives it a little more distinction, though. Take the Terra de Lobos for a porch-sipper or a picnic, but this can hold up to food too. Drink it on the younger side, but it can certainly hold a few years. It's another fine value from this winery this issue." —M.S.
