"Very smoky with stacks of grapefruit and wild herb aromas this tastes like being hit by lightning, or at least somebody striking two huge flint stones together! This will take some time to reach its best, but the brilliance is already very striking. Drinkable now, but best from 2025." - James Suckling

"From a warm, early-ripening plot on Rotliegend (red sandstone), the intensely yellow-colored 2022 Karthäuser Laubenheimer Riesling trocken opens with an aromatic and quite generous bouquet of ripe (red) fruits and a reductive flintiness that tends toward untamed notes. The acidity is remarkably fine but vivacious and well integrated into the supple texture and full body. It gives a saline and uplifting finish with complex talents. It is tight and tensioned and with very good length despite, or because, of 11.5% stated alcohol. Stelvin screw cap." - Robert Parker
