"This garnacha grows at 2,000 feet elevation in Alto Najerilla, a mountainous region southwest of Logroño, the vines more than 80 years old, scattered among 18 small parcels in the town of Cardenas. It ferments spontaneously in wooden vats with whole bunches (40 percent). Nacho Monclús, of Despaña in NYC, described that high-altitude fruit as giving the wine a Gredos style (in the highlands above Madrid). The wine has anise and spice box scents over its lithe, gamey fruit. A cool and zesty beauty, speaking the language of Rioja through the dialect of garnacha, this delivers its lasting power with a gentle embrace." - Wine & Spirits

"A fragrant garnacha with aromas of redcurrants, pomegranate, wild strawberries, thyme, lavender and lemon grass. Some oyster shell, too. Full-bodied with sleek tannins and bright acidity. Silky and vibrant with a long, fresh finish." - James Suckling
