"The Santa Giulia 2017 Brunello di Montalcino is a little unusual in terms of aromas, with crushed aspirin and sour cherry. There are distant hints of medicinal or balsam herb, and you can't miss those earthy notes. It's like putting your nose into a handful of garden soil. However, all these various aromas fit squarely into the Sangiovese playlist, so what you get here is true and genuine. The wine offers medium weight and silky tannins. I'd go with a near-term drinking window for this bottle."
